We drove from Fez to Mergouza, on the way I fed a Barbary ape.
Two days ago I went on a camel into the Sahara desert and at the start I was half on my camel when it got up. When the camels stopped and sat down, my mum fell off and onto Ali, our guide. We gave our camels names, mums was nugget, it did lots of poos, mine was wedgie because it gave me wedgies, and dad's eric cantona, it made dad say ooh ah Cantona.
When we went down a sand dune I almost fell off. When we got to camp and we had dismounted mum was walking like a cowboy.
LATE NIGHT IN THE SAHARA
It was getting late when we reached camp and Hamid was waiting for us, he showed us our Berber tent that we were going to sleep in. After cleaning up we had mint tea("Moroccon whisky"), followed by dinner which was Harira soup, then Lamb and fruit tagine with bread, then oranges to finish.
After dinner, we went up onto a small dune and studied the night sky, looking at the star constellations which were different to the "Aussie" stars. We went back to the camp and Hamid played bongos and sang a Berber song for us. Then we went to bed.
Hamid woke us early, to walk onto the dunes to see the sun rise, unfortunately there were clouds hanging around,so we didn't get to see the sun rise.
We went back to our camels for the ride home.
Goodbye from Gaelan.
